Behind the filter

Isa Landin

For my project, I wanted to investigate how people are affected by the constructed perfectionism regarding lifestyles conveyed on social media. In today's media we see loads of filters and people showing off the "perfect lifestyle, but what is real?
My photobook intends to be an eye-opener and make people aware of the discrepancy between the everyday life of ordinary people and the "reality" conveyed on social media. These photos are meant to make people think about how we are manipulated by the modified reality we encounter online, and how these unrealistic expectations can affect our health, wellbeing, and actions.
