The idea behind my project was born during a conversation about the importance of accessible design. I started looking into accessibility in relation to colorblindness, stumbled upon guidelines for inclusive use of color and found that this is particularly important in preschool as color is used frequently in picturebooks and teaching aids. This sparked two questions – is there a lack of accessible color in preschools, and can graphic design be used as a tool to change that? The solution i found was to design an interactive book for colorblindness testing to contribute to broader insight in colorblind children’s needs.
